Sparks

SPARKS is a national registered charity which funds vital medical research across the UK that will:
|
Increase the life expectancy of new born babies
- Reduce the health risks for babies born prematurely
- Combat common conditions such as spina bifida and cerebral palsy
- Develop more effective treatments for conditions affecting babies and children
SPARKS objectives are to promote, encourage, maintain, improve and advance research into conditions which prevent children from being born healthy and/or may cause suffering during the early years of life.
SPARKS is a small charity with a big mission. Being chosen as one of the Ice Warrior Project's charity partners would allow us to fund significantly more projects, with the aim of making even greater strides towards our goal for all babies to be born healthy and stay healthy.
Everyone can relate to the importance of children having a healthy start in life, and as a charity we believe in funding research into a wide variety of conditions, including those that are very rare. However, we always have a number of projects we are unable to help due to our limited funds. The partnership with the Ice Warrior Project is helping us to say yes to more ground-breaking research.
England World Cup-winning rugby captain and SPARKS President, Martin Johnson, CBE, said:
"Jim McNeill is determined to set new boundaries in human endeavour. It is an epic challenge he has set himself. As president of SPARKS charity, I'm delighted that we are associated with the Ice Warrior project. Here at SPARKS we have set ourselves new boundaries and an epic challenge by funding groundbreaking paediatric research with the aim of guaranteeing every child a winning start to life".
